Something strange happened when Mike uploaded some pics of Rowan tonight. When he opened the windows view finder to edit a few pictures, they completely disappeared. He searched the entire computer, including the trash, they are NO WHERE. Thankfully he had the pictures opened in a different edit program, and was able to copy the pictures. We were pretty upset, especially since they were super cute pictures of Rowan. Here is one of them.
I got to Liam's school a little early to pick him up. His teacher was reading to the kids, so I waited a little bit, and got this cute picture...

Liam's First Day of Preschool
Liam had his first day of preschool today. We are trying the morning schedule this year. We thought maybe if he wasn't as tired, he might get a little more out of the experience. So far I do like the morning time since we can get it done, and then I have the rest of the day to make up my time at work. The only issue so far, is trying to get him to eat something before he's dropped off. He is just like his dad, in that he doesn't like to eat anything when he wakes up. I just don't want him getting too hungry while he's at school. Hopefully we can figure out something out!
Anyway below are a few pictures I got of his first day. I like to get one outside the door, but as you can see it's pretty bright out!! If you want to compare his picture from his first day last year, check this link.
I think he had a pretty good day. It was kinda funny when I went to pick him up, I didn't see him in the room, but they do rotate the kids, so I wasn't too worried. The teacher said he was in the bathroom. One of the girls opened the door to the bathroom which is in the classroom. He was standing with his pants down, trying to get some soap out of the pump. I stepped into the bathroom to assist him, and the girl kept opening and shutting the door!! I quickly put his pants up...it's a good thing he's too young to be embarrassed by that.
He told G'ma that he thought his teacher was really really pretty, and that the girls in his class were cute. So, I would say his first day at school was a success!

Mommy Brag
So sorry, this is my 'brag' today, instead of my blog...we went to meet Liam's teacher today. We thought we were going to have Miss Erin, but when we got there we double checked with the front desk, and I guess Miss Erin decided to leave at the last minute because her husband got his dream job and they had to move. So anyway, his new teacher is 'Miss Raya'. She is really nice and pretty, and I think he will love her. After we met her, we went to visit his teacher from last year, and she was talking to another family, so we went on to another room. We were going to go back, but she left her room to come say 'Hi' to us and to Liam. She loves him so much, and we found out the reason he does not have her this year. She took a 2nd job at her church as a director of child development (or something like that) and so she is only teaching one class this year, and it is the tater tot class (4-5 yr olds). She said that she would keep an eye on Liam though since they will be there at the same time. We asked if she would be here next year, and she said she would never leave there, so maybe he will get her next year, or maybe Rowan will? We also asked her about next year, and if she thought 2 or 3 days would be better for him. Since Rowan will be going too, we wanted to send them at the same time. She said that Liam is so smart, that he would be fine with either schedule. Anyway, it seems Liam is a very popular kid with all the teachers because they all seemed very happy to see him, which we are very grateful for. I can't believe that school starts next week?! It seems we just had his graduation, but I think he will very much enjoy being back to school....I'm just crossing my fingers and toes, we can stay healthier than we were last year!!

Update
Here it is, 12:44 am in the morning and I am working on pictures. I can't believe I am so behind editing them?! I have pictures from May!! Well, I used to work on them after I got home from work...after I put Rowan down for her nap, and if Liam was sleeping too. But, this summer Rowan has decided to drop her 2nd nap, and then on top of that we have the yard to care for too. Sadly my blog, totsite, and pictures have been neglected lately....and I won't even mention how behind I am on the indoor stuff ;) Anyway, needless to say, I am getting caught up (on the pictures that is)!! And I should probably hit the bed SOON!! But before I do, I need to post a really cute picture of Rowan in the tub : )

More Fun Summer Things
On my birthday, we went to see Bela Fleck and Bruce Hornsby. We met up with Mike's cousin Erica, and her husband John. We all had a great time!! It was raining like crazy on the drive up, so we were really unsure about how the concert would turn out, but amazingly the storm missed the venue completely. The weather was perfect, and we had a really great time on our (me and Mike) 2nd night out together since Liam was born. Seriously, we need to do that more often!!!
I had to pack some rain coats and umbrellas, so I didn't bring the nice camera...but I did bring my point and shoot, and got some video's.

Loving Summer
I am loving Summer this year, and I am NOT ready for school to start in a few weeks?! We got our notice of who Liam's teacher is going to be this year. Her name is Miss Erin. We had requested Miss Farrah, and are sad we won't have her, but we're sure Miss Erin is really nice too. We get to meet her in a couple of weeks, and then he starts on Aug. 23rd. This summer just flew by way too fast. I have been spending a lot of time outside too, and it's pretty crazy because I actually have a tan on my arms! I put sun screen on most of the time if I'm going to be out for long periods, but some sun must be getting to me cause my arms have color! The last time I ever remember having a tan was when I was a kid!
Anyway, last Saturday I took Liam to this new thing they have behind the Dinosaur Museum. It's called Trilobite Treasures, and you can dig for fossils, specifically Trilobites. I thought they had them already discovered and hidden in sand, and we would use shovels and brushes to 'Find' them...but NO!! They are still in the shale/rock, and you use a HUGE hammer to split the rock open and find as many as you can within the time you pay for. We were there an hour, which is plenty long for a 3 yr. old. Liam had fun, but I actually think I had more fun than him. And in hindsight, I think this activity is best for older kids and adults. The smallest hammer they have is pretty big, and really could hurt a small kid if they aren't being careful. Anyway, we found some great trilobites on our own, and with a little help from the experts. Liam found a couple all by himself, I was so proud of him.
