Liam Goes to the Dinosaur Museum

On Friday we met cousin Madison and her mom at the Dinosaur museum. We got there when they opened, and it was a mad house because a local elementary school was there for a field trip. It was still fun, and Liam didn't mind the crowd...although, next time we will call ahead to make sure there won't be a field trip there! Here are a few pics:

The Bridge

Google has this feature where you can type in an address and map it. Some maps you can see a bird's eye level of an area, but now in some places you can actually 'walk' down the road by clicking the arrows!! You can stop and get a 360 degree view of the area. I did a search for the house I grew up in New Hampshire, and I took a stroll down the road. I even saw people out walking, it was really cool! I took a walk down to the bridge where I played almost everyday from around the age of 13 till we moved across town a few years later. I would get home from school, hurry and do my homework, then hop on my bike and ride down to the bridge. I befriended the kids that lived next to the bridge, as well as other kids in the neighborhood, and we had a blast playing there. In the winter time the pond froze over and we would ice skate, and play ice hockey. In the summer we took out a small canoe and gathered minnows. I have so many good memories of this place, that it has to be my favorite place as a kid.
(I can't get the link to embed...so if you are curious, go to googlemaps.com and put in 90 Stowell Rd, Merrimack, NH. And/or see if you can find your favorite place.)

Good Times

I have to say this whole Internet thing we have is pretty cool...I have been connecting with friends from Junior High and High School on Face Book, and surprisingly enough found out that I live about 10 minutes away from a friend I had in Junior High when we lived in New Hampshire! She recently posted some pictures from Junior High and it was just crazy to see myself and everyone else too!

Below is a picture of our 8th grade class at the top of Mt. Cardigan. Part of the curriculum in the 8th grade was to learn and prepare ourselves for a 5 day trip in early October to climb to the top of Mt. Cardigan which is located in the White Mountains in northern New Hampshire. Each subject in school was taken into account. We had scientific experiments to test the water, identify various plants, and birds. We had certain equations we had to learn, and read poems, one I remember was by Robert Frost, 'The Road Not Taken'. We had PT (physical training) so we would be in shape to climb the mountain. I'm not sure if they continue to do this trip, but I think back at that time with fond memories. We learned a lot, and it was in a way that made it really fun. We all felt a sense of accomplishment when we got to the top, and looked around at the beautiful scene. How lucky were we to have such a cool staff to organize this trip for us?!

I'm the one in the lower left, in the pink jacket!

Mr. Mischief

Last weekend I spent some time taking a bunch of pictures of Liam playing. Last year we found some cute Mr. Man shirts at Target and bought a bunch of 18 month old ones for this summer. We put the Mr. Mischief one on him, and I was trying to get a picture of him with the shirt on, so you could see what it said. I got lots of cute pictures of him playing, but trust me it isn't easy getting one of him sitting or standing still long enough to see his shirt! He is a super busy body now, and runs everywhere!!

Liam on the run...

Liam loves his books!

Liam on his train.

Liam smiling.

And finally one where you can see most of his Mr. Mischief shirt.

Close Call

So I stayed in bed a little longer than I should have this morning, and when I decided I should probably get going, I hopped out of bed and went to the bathroom. I heard a news story on the TV about a virus that has been going around infecting computers, and since our computer has been infected I stepped into the bedroom to hear the TV better. The room got black, and before I knew it I did a face plant into the carpet!! I got carpet in my left eye and scratched up my wrist, but other than that I am OK. After all was said and done, I realized how lucky I was that I moved into the bedroom where there is carpet. In the bathroom there is tile, and a counter, and a glass shower I could have seriously hurt or even killed myself falling on! Also, Mike had already left for work, so I would have been all alone had it been more serious. I am feeling very grateful for that story on the news that caught my attention...I guess you could say I was saved by a virus!

Re-fi

Since the rates have been going down lately, we really wanted to re-fi our Mortgage loan. We have been watching it go up and down for the past several months. We held off for a while partly due to wanting a better rate, and partly procrastination. The wait has certainly paid off because we were able to lock in today with our Credit Union at 4.875%. This will save us quite a bit of money each month, and we are pretty happy about that!

Cute Cousins

I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but finally got around to doing it. Here is a cute picture of Liam and his cousin Madison. This picture was taken in Nov. 08. Liam is 11 months, and Madison is 20 months. Madison's Grandpa is handy with Photo Shop, so he put the cute background behind them. It kinda reminds me of a Disney Movie. We all thought how cute Madison was holding Liam, and their expressions are priceless too!

March Already?!

Ok, I seriously need to update my blog more. I just realized that it's been nearly a month since my last post. Hopefully this spring and summer we will have more exciting things going on, and I will have lots to blog about! We kinda hibernate in the winter time. We have been working on one of our winter projects over the last couple of weeks. We finally found some shelves at Costco for storage in our basement. Mike has put them all together, and there are 9 in the cold storage room, and 3 in an adjacent room for Misc. storage. We can now look out for good deals at the various stores, and start stocking up our own mini store. We are also pretty excited to have our own garden this year. When we lived at the Townhouse we did have a community garden for a few years, but it will be nice to have our own space to grow what ever and where ever we want! We will hopefully be able to can some sauces and such, and store them for later use too.

We are also excited for warmer weather so that Liam will be able to play in the backyard. Near the end of last year we had our whole yard landscaped and a patio put in, so he will be able to play in the grass, have some toys to ride on, and play in the kiddy pool. We think that he will love the pool. He used to be afraid of getting his face splashed at bath time, but lately he loves to splash!! Last night was the funniest bath time yet. He started to splash and then dad squirted water through his hand at him, and he started to giggle and laugh more than we have ever heard him laugh!! He just kept laughing, and we were laughing at him laughing. We laughed so hard our muscles hurt. It was sooo funny, I wish we had a video of it. Anyway, he will be 15 months on Saturday. We just can't believe how quickly he is growing up before our eyes!
