Just when I thought this year couldn't get any worse...

I lost my job.  17 years at a company, and poof, it's gone.  They told me they were moving my job to Costa Rica where they have had an office for many years.  They didn't want me to train anyone or document my job, just told me I had to gather up my stuff and leave immediately.  A few weeks later, I ran into a former co-worker and this person said that some other employees in the office where trying to do the job.  So, I don't know if the whole Costa Rica thing is true, but sure did rub salt in the wound.  It has been a painful experience, and has kept me up many nights.  It appears that corporate decided to lay off people so they could get their bonuses.  But, it seems they shot themselves in the foot because they are already so behind on other parts of production.  They either don't care about the work? Or don't know enough about it to know the delay and disruption they have created for the other employees.  I guess it really it isn't my concern anymore, and it is time to move on.

Things have been OK being at home so far.  We are getting into somewhat of a routine for summer, but as much as I love my kids, I do miss my job.  It allowed me some time to myself, and the kids loved going to Grandma's house.  Unfortunately,  finding a job with similar benefits and flexible hours in the same area near Grandma's house is a pretty tall order.  Also, the whole logistics of school have changed too.  Our plan was to send Rowan to 2 more years at Kids Village, and Liam was registered to go to Kindergarten by Grandma's house.  But now that I am not working in Orem, it doesn't make sense to make that commute, so we have found Rowan a preschool closer to home, and signed Liam up for the Kindergarten in our district.

Anyway, summer has been all about swimming lessons, and below are a couple of video's I have taken:

Liam's Video: 7-17-13

Rowan's Video: 6-5-13 (need a more recent one, but found this one from first week)

Holy cow! I thought that watching Mason would encourage Liam, but what a huge jump in one day!! He is amazing. And Rowan is just way too cute. She has come a long way this year as well.
